At MyAtlas Birds, our mission is to make tracking your bird observations as intuitive and enjoyable as possible. We believe that the location of your sightings is often what you'll remember most, which is why we've designed the app to display your observations directly on a map. To enhance your experience, rather than cluttering the map with generic blue dots or red pins, we’ve chosen to represent each sighting with a beautiful image of the bird itself.\n\nIn addition to tracking your observations, MyAtlas Birds offers a unique feature called the Taxonomy Tree. This tool provides a comprehensive overview of the relationships between species, allowing you to explore the orders, families, and genera of the class Aves. We believe that understanding these connections contributes to your appreciation of bird diversity.

IOC World Bird List

Our species data is based on the IOC World Bird List, a resource that we hold in the highest regard. The meticulous work of the IOC in compiling and maintaining this list is invaluable to the global birding community, and we are deeply grateful for their efforts. Their dedication ensures that our users have access to the most accurate and up-to-date taxonomy available.

Wikimedia

The bird images you see in MyAtlas Birds are sourced from Wikimedia Commons, a platform where photographers generously share their work under various licenses. We extend our sincere thanks to Wikimedia and all the contributors who make these images available. Your generosity enriches the experience of countless users.

Photoroom

To make these images visually appealing, we’ve used Photoroom to remove backgrounds, allowing the birds to stand out on the map.

Apple Weather

We integrate real-time weather data into the app, provided by Apple Weather. This feature adds an extra layer of context to your observations, helping you understand how weather conditions may influence bird behavior and sightings.

Berta Alonso Martínez

Last and most of all, I want to thank my girlfriend Berta. She not only designed the icon of the app but also helped overall with the design within the app. Without her keen eye this app wouldn't have looked anything like this. Also, I want to thank her for supporting me during the long evenings working on this. Without her I coulnd't have done it.
